Cerec Same-day Crowns & Bridges

CEREC®

Introducing CEREC®

Our primary concern is the benefit and care of our patients. Our team strives to satisfy our patients with the highest quality of dental care. We have recently introduced CEREC same-day crowns to our practice in Westport.

CEREC® is the only system in the world to fabricate all-ceramic dental restorations in just ONE visit. CEREC® closely matches the composition of natural tooth structure. Because CEREC® materials are chemically bonded to the tooth, there is less drilling required to accommodate the restoration. This process saves as much of the healthy tooth tissue as possible while strengthening the tooth’s structure. The process can take place during a one-visit appointment. It uses 3D technology to photograph where the crown, inlay, or onlay will go to make an exact fit. We can shape the tooth to align with the rest of your teeth for a more comfortable and efficient feel.

How Much Do They Cost?

If you’re considering getting a CEREC same-day crown, it’s essential to consider the cost. Unfortunately, there’s no easy answer as to how much these crowns cost, as it varies depending on several factors, such as dental insurance coverage. The best way to get an accurate estimate is to schedule a consultation with our team. During this consultation, we can examine your teeth, discuss your options, and provide you with an estimate of what the treatment will cost.

What Are the Steps?

The following is a step-by-step CEREC same-day crown placement process so you can feel confident and informed if you consider this procedure.

Step 1: Examination and Preparation

Before we start the CEREC process, Dr. Sathvik Seshadri or Dr. Shikha Chopra will examine your teeth and determine if CEREC same-day crown placement is the appropriate treatment option. Once you consent, our team will administer local anesthesia and prepare the tooth by removing any damaged or decayed tissue.

Step 2: Digital Impression

Next, we use advanced imaging technology to take digital impressions of your teeth. This technology eliminates the need for messy dental impressions; the images are sent immediately to our CEREC machine.

Step 3: CEREC Design and Milling

Our CEREC machine uses 3D software to design a custom dental crown tailored to your unique bite and tooth structure. We send the design to the milling machine, which sculpts a ceramic block into your new dental crown in just a few minutes.

Step 4: Placement and Polishing

Once your dental crown is milled, our dentist will place and polish the new crown onto your prepared tooth. We will check for proper alignment and adjust the crown for optimal fit and comfort. Our team will also ensure your bite is properly aligned to prevent discomfort or pain after the procedure.

Step 5: Follow-Up

After CEREC same-day crown placement, following our post-treatment instructions is essential, which may include an over-the-counter pain reliever and further observation of the treated tooth. We will also schedule a follow-up appointment to ensure the implant has properly integrated into your mouth.

What is Your Benefit?

  • You no longer have to come in for two separate visits for a crown; CEREC® now completes them in ONE visit (usually an hour and a half)!
  • You no longer have to deal with a temporary crown that may end up falling off.
  • The technology helps prevent the tooth from cracking.
  • Your new tooth will have a very natural look.

What Are Dental Bridges?

Dental bridges are a popular restorative dental treatment that replaces one or more missing teeth. They consist of artificial teeth, known as pontics, anchored in place by dental crowns attached to the natural teeth on either side of the gap. Dental bridges not only fill the spaces left by missing teeth but also restore your ability to speak and chew properly while maintaining the alignment of your remaining teeth.

The Dental Bridge Procedure

The dental bridge procedure typically involves two or more visits to our dental clinic in Westport. Our dentists will assess your oral health during your initial consultation and discuss the treatment plan with you. If you are a suitable candidate for dental bridges we will begin the process by preparing the abutment teeth, which involves removing a small amount of enamel to accommodate the dental crowns.

Next, our dentists will take impressions of your teeth, which will be sent to a dental lab where your custom dental bridge will be fabricated. While your bridge is being created, we may provide a temporary bridge to protect your exposed teeth and maintain aesthetics.

Once your dental bridge is ready, you will return to our office for the final placement. Our dentists will carefully check the fit and appearance of the bridge before permanently bonding it in place. They will make any necessary adjustments to ensure a comfortable bite and a natural-looking smile.
